Appeal of the Main Directorate of Migration and Citizenship Registration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On December 21, 2020, information about the fact of a sharp increase in the queues of the population living in the Khazarasp and Khiva districts of the Khorezm region, in the departments of Migration and registration of citizenship of the internal affairs bodies for obtaining biometric passports for traveling abroad, was widely disseminated on social networks.
According to the data obtained, it was established that the bulk of the population applying for a biometric passport to travel abroad are citizens who work in the territory of the Russian Federation. These citizens apply to the Migration and Citizenship Offices of the internal affairs bodies in connection with the entry into force of the procedure for departure of Uzbek citizens to all CIS member states, including the Russian Federation, from January 1, 2021, only with biometric passports to travel abroad.
Among the population living in these territories, false information about the establishment of air communication between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation has spread.
It should be noted that in connection with the pandemic, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not receive any official information that a number of states, including the Russian Federation, are planning to resume air and rail links with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At present, the departments of Migration and Citizenship Registration of the Internal Affairs Agencies of the Khazarasp and Khiva Districts have carried out explanatory work with citizens who are in the queue for obtaining biometric passports to travel abroad; they have also been issued coupons with queue numbers.
Considering the above, we ask the citizens of our republic not to trust any unconfirmed information, to contact the departments of Migration and registration of citizenship of the internal affairs bodies in the prescribed manner.
